The Ex-Banker Running Three Street Food Concepts From One Kitchen | Dark Kitchens
Marcio Coelho traded standing orders for, well, standing and giving orders.
There’s many things that you can associate with bankers; be it a sharp pinstripe suit, watching Bloomberg whilst running on a treadmill or just shouting “Sell!” into a phone for some reason I’ll never fully understand.
One thing you probably wouldn’t associate with bankers though is food. Unless of course it’s a plate of caviar and some Bollie at a ‘meeting’ in the City on a Friday afternoon.
But one man has changed all that, throwing off 15 years as a banker in London to follow a passion for food and pursue his dreams of owning and operating restaurants.
That man is Marcio Coelho, and with the help of his family, wife Cristina and daughter Andrea, he launched the fantastic KBOM Bar & Kitchen at Hatch in the tail end of 2019, offering up a combination of authentic Portuguese and Brazilian dishes, right there under the Mancunian Way.
